Our History

In 1972, York Industry's president Paul Swift, began his career as a machinist in Great Britain apprenticing in an large facility employing nearly 6,000 employees. After being named apprentice of the year and graduating at the top of his class his career took off. He spent several years honing his craft before immigrating with his young family to Canada and by the age of 23, his skills and leadership abilities were recognized and he found himself working as a lead hand for many men, some of whom were much older than himself.

Over the next several years Paul was drawn to the idea of owning and operating his own business and in 1990 York Industries began it's history in a small, light industrial bay in Langley, BC. Beginning with one small older manual horizontal boring mill, the business has grown from a part time one man operation to an enterprise employing 10 full time employees with 10 CNC and Manual turning and machining centers as well as full fabrication facilities occupying over 10,000 square feet and growing.

Our reputation is a measure of our commitment to precision, quality and meeting the timeline requirements of our customers. Based on this solid and proven foundation, we've turned our eyes to the future.

Through embracing technology, York Industries is continuously seeking out new and innovative means of improving productivity and quality which will enable us to remain competitive in what is rapidly becoming a global marketplace. Paul Swift's experience and expertise of nearly 40 years in the industry is continually called upon in mentoring and training employees. This, coupled with the over 100 years of combined experience of our employees, provides York Industries with an excellent opportunity for future growth.
