Job Posting: Journeyman Machinist & 2nd/3rd Year Apprentice
York Industries is a growing precision manufacturing company specializing in machining and custom fabrication. We are currently seeking both a skilled Journeyman Machinist and a motivated 2nd or 3rd Year Machinist Apprentice to join our team. Responsibilities (Journeyman Machinist)
- Set up and operate CNC machines to produce precision parts.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models.
- Perform accurate measurements and inspections to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Troubleshoot machining challenges and make adjustments as needed.
- Mentor apprentices and share technical knowledge.
- Maintain equipment and a clean, organized work environment.
Responsibilities (Apprentice Machinist)
- Assist with the setup and operation of manual and CNC machines.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints with guidance.
- Perform measurements and inspections under supervision.
- Learn troubleshooting and machining techniques from journeyman machinists.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe and organized shop environment.
Qualifications
- Journeyman Machinist: Red Seal or equivalent certification with shop experience.
- Apprentice Machinist: Registered as a 2nd or 3rd year apprentice in BC.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of Mastercam
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
